Akshay Kumar’s Speedy Comeback

We all remember Akshay Kumar for delivering splendid performance in many comedy movies, but Singh is Kinng gave a new identity to Akshay Kumar for portraying a role of a Sikh guy who is good at heart but unaware of how the world interacts. After creating a lot of buzz all over India as Singh is Kinng, Akshay Kumar is now going to return on the screen as Speedy Singh which was earlier called as Breakaway. This will be an Indo-Canadian joint venture and Akshay is already working on the movie.

However, the good thing about Speedy Singh is that we will be able to see Akki back in his dancing shoes and grooving to the music with some international music sensation. Akshay is no stranger to this because he has already performed with Kylie Minogue for Chiggy Wiggy in Blue. On the other hand, he has also performed along with Snoop Dogg for the title track of Singh is Kinng. Now Akshay will be back on the stage performing with international sensation Ludacris for the song Shera Di Khom in Speedy Singh. Ludacris is already one of the top rappers in the United States and has already received Grammy award.

As per the news, Akki was not supposed to be a part of this project, but then Akki decided to grab the project. It was also reported that Akshay and Ludacris bonded well during the shoot and they have been in constant touch. The song will be shown towards the end of the movie when the credits roll. The song is composed together by RDB and Ludacris. The rap section of the song will be worked by Ludacris completely. Speedy Singh is a cross culture comedy drama that will showcase about Indo-Canadian community in Toronto. The story will be about how people from South Asia adapt to a new life in new country and it is also believed that the story is based on a true story of an Indian hockey player.

‘Khatron Ke Khiladi – Torchaar’ gets maximum ratings ever

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar’s return as the host of “Khatron Ke Khiladi” has worked wonders! The opening episode of the fourth season of the show has garnered the maximum ratings than all its previous seasons.

The show generated a Television Rating Point (TRP) of 3.7, according to data provided by rating agency Audience Measurement and Analytics Ltd (aMap)aMap.

The show, an Indianised version of action-adventure show “Fear Factor”, was launched June 3.

“With the return of Khiladi Akshay Kumar, season four got the highest of the ratings compared to previous three seasons,” Jiniti Shah, vice president, aMap, said in a press statement.

The premiere episode of the third season, hosted by Priyanka Chopra recieved a much lower TRP of 2.4.

The debut episodes of the first and second seasons – both of which were hosted by Akshay, had recieved ratings of 1.6 and 2.9 respectively.

The fourth season was shot in Cape Town, and features female celebrities from showbiz as well as other fields, each paired with a male participant.

Bollywood News: Sonakshi impresses her ‘Joker’ director

In spite of her small role in Dabangg, Sonakshi Sinha as her father got in limelight with her dialogue.

In her next film, Joker,while Akshay is the lead and an alien concept is the major show, will the new comer have a platform to prove herself.

When asked Shirish Kunder, the film director she assured by saying, “Yes definitely, in JOKER she is there right through the film with Akshay. She has a well etched out part and the best part is that both she as well I are very enthusiastic about making the best use of the platform made available as this is our second film each. I would personally like to work more with someone like her who is younger and is just starting off as it brings us both in the same space.”

Shirish, who has worked with Preity Zinta in his debut directorial outing JAAN-E-MANN, adds, “She has that gift which I guess come from her genes. You have to tell Sonakshi just once about what you want and she does it just perfectly well. You don’t have to explain things much to her. This reflects not just in her act but also the dialogue delivery as she brings in punctuations at just the right place in the right way.”

Bollywood News: Will Akshay Kumar’s Thank You work at the box office?

Now this one has a big cast, a big producer ( UTV ) and a bankable director ( Anees Bazmee ) at the helm of affairs. But will the product be good enough for the audiences to say a ‘thank you’ to it’s cast and the makers after watching the film? Our in-house expert and noted astro numerologist Bhavikk Sangghvi predicts the fate of THANK YOU for us :

“ The title ‘THANK YOU’ adds up to Number 31 – this octave of Number 4 is extremely fortunate number provided it is not associated with the single numbers of fours ( 4 ) and eights ( 8 ). This is a highly spiritual number and symbolized by ‘peace and love’ ” explains Bhavikk.

“ But alas ! The release date of the film is set on 8th April 2011 and that’s rather ‘unfortunate’ ”.
Bhavikk continues “ Of the cast, Akshay Kumar will be liked since he is a Number 9 person ( 9th September 1967 ) and currently the Sun is in the zodiac sign of Aries which is ruled by the same number. Ditto Bobby Deol and Sonam Kapoor who are Number 9 persons ( 27th January 1967 and 9th June 1985 ). Also, that’s Suniel Shetty’s and Celina Jaitley’s ‘destiny’ numbers ( 11th August 1961 and 24th November 1981 ) respectively ”.
“ The compound number arrived from the release date adds up to Number 7 ( Ketu ) which is Irrfan Khan’s birth number ( 7th January ). Lastly, Rimi Sen is running in her 30th year ( 21st September 1981 ) which is good time for her ” he adds further.

BOllywood News :Hrithik, Katrina, Farhan & Abhay shooting for Tomatina fest in Spain

Zindagi Na Milege Dobara starring Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol and Katrina Kaif will the theatres on June 24. It is a film about three friends taking off on a fun filled road trip.

The movie has an elaborate scene with the four stars, Hrithik, Katrina, Farhan and Abhay taking part in the Tomatina festival of Spain where people throw tomatoes at each other.

The Tomatina that takes place in the month of August was recreated for the shoot of the Zindagi Na Milege Dobara. It was shot in Bunyol, Valencia, Spain. 16 tons on tomatoes were used for the shoot and they were flown in from Portugal, as the tomatoes in Spain were not ripe enough for the Tomatina. For the scene 24 tonnes of tomato puree was used. This costs the producers Rs 1 crore.


Zoya says, “Tomatina in Spain is a festival closest to our holi. They play with tomatoes and the world turns red for the day. The energy is infectious and the scene is a visual treat. We had a blast shooting this sequence but it was not all rosy. It was a logistical nightmare for the producer. We shot in the same location where thefestival actually takes place and we had to shut down the town for it. The residents of Bunyol were extremely sweet and in turn they celebratedTomatina twice last year, once for Spain and once for India.”

Says Ritesh Sidhwani, producer of Zindagi Na Milege Dobara “To recreate the Tomatina festival and make it look authentic, we had to call for some 16 tons for tomatoes from Portugal, as the tomatoes in Spain were not ripe.

Salman Khan and Akshay had Blast shooting for ‘Tees Maar Khan’ song

 Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar are two of the coolest dudes of Bollywood, who get along extremely well with each other. Several stories about the many pranks that Akshay plays on his co stars while on the sets keep doing the rounds; Salman is known for his good humor and wit, which keeps all and one in splits on the sets.

So, when the two hot hunks were brought under the same roof by none other than director Farah Khan, to shoot for the Qawwali number for ‘Tees Maar Khan’, to be released on the 24th of December, there was complete leg pulling and great fun on the location.

Reportedly, the two had a great time in between shots, and as Katrina Kaif, who plays the female lead, made herself comfortable, while the number was being shot, it was the honchos Salman and Akshay, who were having a blast in between the takes.

Since all the costumes of the performers in the Qawalli number were based on a retro look, even Salman and Akshay had on colorful shirts, with scarves tied around their necks. Both of them even took out their scarves and started dancing in that patent Salman Khan towel dance step, much to everyone’s amusement!

However, according to the buzz, the song has come out simply great, and thus, at the end when both Salman and Akshay had to take off their scarves and throw it on Kat; everyone cheered with a loud applause!

Well, with the two hunks, Salman and Akshay having a blast, and Katrina looking simply stunning in a Meena Kumari style Pakeezah outfit, this movie surely seems to be something to watch out for!

First Look: Patiala House

The official synopsis of the new Akshay Kumar film 'Patiala House' has arrived. The film is directed by Nikhil Advani (Chandni Chowk to China) and stars Anushka Sharma, Dimple Kapadia, Rishi Kapoor and Hard Kaur and cricket players like Andrew Symonds, Keiron Pollard, Durk Nanis, Simon Katich, Graham Gooch, Shaun Tait and Sanjay Manjrekar.

The protagonist of the film (Akshay Kumar) runs a corner shop in Southall but his desire is to break into sports/cricket. His father is a strict traditionalist and his mission is to ensure his family do not lose their Indian culture and identity. Akshay, however wants to play cricket – not for India but for England – and he gets the chance to do this. Also, according to the makers of the film, cricket is just the catalyst, the real deal is father-son drama.

The film is also about British Asian identity and the cross-generational conflict between a father and son. The primary message of the film is about family ties and duty, a yearning to follow one’s dreams, and trying to make sense of the dichotomies that life presents when one’s family has migrated to another land. Other strong subject matters in the film include:

Chunky got extra scenes in ‘Housefull’, courtesy Akshay

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, infamous for chopping scenes of his co-stars for more footage, had a change of heart when it came to Chunky Panday.

Akshay increased Chunky’s scenes in their last outing “Housefull” and also gave him opportunities to enhance his scenes.

“When Akshay and I shot scenes together, he suggested many improvisations for me to do in those scenes that were scripted. He allowed me to do more in certain scenes than himself,” said Chunky.

“He was very unselfish as an actor and his suggestions really upped the quality of many scenes (in the movie),” he added.

Directed by Sajid Khan, the movie that was declared a hit, also starred Lara Dutta, Deepika Padukone, Jiah Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, Boman Irani and Arjun Rampal.

Katrina and Akshay No More?

Who doesn't know about the deadly combination of Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif? Their movies together have received much appreciation from audiences and critics galore! However, the newest buzz on the grapevine is that Kat turned down a film which required her to play a role opposite Akshay.

Recently, the director of Thank You, Anees Bazmee offered Katrina a role for his upcoming film. However, the porcelain beauty turned the offer down. Her reason for the refusal was that she is already working with Akshay in Tees Maar Khan and couldn't put up two movies with the actor at the same time.

The director, along with the star cast, is currently shooting for the film in Canada. Even though Katrina refused to be a part of Thank You, Anees isn't quite ready to give in just yet. Apparently, he sends a representative to meet Katrina on a regular basis, in the hopes that she will agree to at least making a guest appearance in the movie.

Katrina refuses to act with Akshay

When we are asked to name some Bollywood’s enviable jodis then one most desirable couple that strikes out mind is the jodi of Akshay Kumarand Katrina Kaif.
