Sonam's kissing debut with Mausam!

Sonam kapoor with Sahid Kapoor in Mausam

After a denial from Sonam Kapoor, there is indeed a passionate lip-lock between Sonam and Shahid in Mausam.

"There is no kissing scene in Mausam." Sonam Kapoor had said earlier. There was a time when Sonam was not exactly on friendly terms with Shahid. Apparently when Pankaj Kapur, director of the film had informed Sonam about the kiss, she had put her foot down. Her refusal created drama on the sets. Kapur had even called up her father Anil Kapoor in desperation. But to no avail. Finally the actor succumbed to the director's demand.

Now that all the strife and uncertainty is in the past, Sonam told Mumbai Mirror about the kiss: "Jitna hona chahiye tha, utna hi rakha gaya (Whatever was required has been retained)."

"Sonam is a fantastic actress. She had a very comfortable equation with Pankaj and Shahid. If there were any aspersions whatsoever, they were cast aside during the course of the shoot," the tabloid quotes Sheeta Talwar, producer of the film as saying.

Although it's Sonam's kissing debut, for Shahid, it's his fouth time. He has locked lips with Kareena Kapoor (Jab We Met), Priyanka Chopra (Kaminey) and Anushka Sharma (Badmaash Company).

It was a star studded evening at Juhu PVR Mumbai, Shahid Kapur and Sonam Kapoor unveiled the first look of one of the most anticipated films Mausam. Veteran actor Pankaj Kapur’s directorial venture took more almost 4 years to complete.

Shahid was looking dashing in his clean shaven look. He wore white shirt with blue stripes and brown light brown cargo's. Whereas Sonam was looking very pretty in a white dress.

Shahid says, the film goes beyond love story. Mausam is about 4 seasons, 4 portions of love, emotions that happens between two individuals. The theme of the film is rain. It is a seasons of love with different emotions and situations between the characters. It starts with a young age love story and how it matures, the film is all about that.”

Sonam Kapoor on his not so good friendship with Shahid Kapur says,“ Shahid and I share a love hate relationship. We love and hate each other a lot. I am not at all friendly with my co stars. I rarely interact with my heroes."

On a joking note Sonam says that Shahid is a worst actor. When she saw Shahid first time in a mustache she said," you are looking like my papa."

She also says that she started fighting the first day and then talking the other day but there was no major fight.

Shahid On Sonam says,“Her fashion standards are really high. She rarely like what he wore but finally today the time has come that she approves of my attire positively. It was an honor to work with Sonam in the film.”

From Television to Direction, Pankaj says,“ I had directed in television for 4 years. Bur I always wanted to make a film with Shahid. When I wrote the script of Mausam I only kept in mind Shahid. It’s a fresh film with fresh

script. When I thought about the film the love story occurred in my mind. The main aim of the film is to entertain and to reach everyone; the story of the film will appeal to one and all. When I wrote the script, the concept was developed keeping in mind Shahid. After the completion of the script the first girl who could do justice of the role of the lead actress was Sonam.”

The films release got postponed till september, Pankaj Kapur says,“ The decision of postponing the release was of the producers and the distributors. But it is good that the film is releasing in September, it is for the betterment for the film’s post production. This is the best way that we have made the film and hope everyone likes it.”

On his look of an Airforce officer Shahid says,“ When I started shooting for the script, Dad told me to grow a mustache. I was a little apprehensive about it. But he convinced me that every airforce officer has a mustache. It is required for the role."

Shahid became the first actor in Bollywood to fly F 16 plane, he says,“

I was fortunate that I got the opportunity to fly. It was an exhilarating experience. I feel much honored to be a part of something like this. I am also being proud to be the only one Bollywood actor who flew F 16.

For the role I met various airforce officers, spoken to them, studies their body language. Learned what all goes into being an airforce officer.

The air force training was also a wonderful experience to go through. The entire process requires a graph. I researched on them and even met few air force officers. Their attitude is awesome. They are the real heroes."

Mausam stars Shahid Kapur, Sonam Kapoor, Supriya Pathak, Anupam Kher and will be releasing on 16th September 2011.

Bollywood News: Aishwarya, Sonam & Freida to represent India at Cannes

Bollywood’s hot beauties Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor and Freida Pinto is reported to light up the Red Carpet for L’Oreal Paris at the Cannes Film Festival to be held from the 11th-22nd of May 2011.

Interestingly, it is for the first time that L’Oreal Paris will have 3 spokeswomen representing India at Cannes, a testimony to India’s growing influence on the world stage.

Aishwarya, who celebrates a decade of representing L’Oreal Paris at Cannes, will like previous years walk the red carpet on May 11 for the opening ceremony and will attend the Opening Gala cocktail and dinner while attending various events at Cannes on May 12.

Said the diva in a statement, “Being at Cannes for L’Oreal Paris has been an absolute pleasure and to experience this for the tenth consecutive year has been quite overwhelming. I thank the L’Oreal Paris team and the Cannes Film Festival for inviting me every year to represent India at one of the most glamorous red carpets on the world platform, celebrating cinema, showbiz, beauty, diversity and excellence. Several countries have always had more than one L’Oreal Paris spokeswoman at Cannes and I’m glad India is finally getting the same recognition. I am happy that with Sonam and Freida, both beautiful women, being invited to the festival this year, India will have a stronger presence, which is a clear sign of the growing importance of the country.”

While Sonam will be walking the red carpet on May 15, Freida will represent L’Oreal Paris at the amFAR (The American Foundation for AIDS Research) dinner and after-party on May 19. The amFAR event co-sponsored by L’Oreal Paris aims at raising money against AIDS.

On the other hand Sonam stated, “It has always been my dream to walk the red carpet at Cannes and it is soon going to be a reality thanks to L’Oreal Paris. I look forward to meeting actors and film makers from the world over and attending screenings of some interesting films. But what excites me the most is meeting the L’Oreal Paris international dream team of make-up artistes and seeing how they transform me for one of the most glamorous red carpets in the world.”

L’Oreal Paris will also introduce its first dream team of three internationally renowned make-up artists – Karim Rahman, Billy B and Rie Omoto who will design exclusive make-up looks for all the spokeswomen, jury members and actresses present during the course of the festival.

Mumbai, April 22 -- Sonam Kapoor's Freaky Friday remake won't hit the floors anytime soon. Father-producer-actor Anil Kapoor has put the Hindi remake of the Lindsay Lohan-starrer on an indefinite hold. Speculations about who in Bollywood will play the mother's role, essayed by Jamie Lee Curtis in the 2003 Hollywood film, have been rife.
Kapoor apparently wanted to cast Kirron Kher as the mother, but she turned down the role. Then, Madhuri Dixit was approached, but she too refused as she felt the role "didn't appeal" to her.

Ask Kapoor about the film and he shoots back: "There's no such film." So has he shelved it completely? "As a creative person you get 10 ideas, but you can't make films on all the thoughts that come to you. We thought of remaking Freaky Friday, and the next thing I see is stories about who is starring in the film among other speculations. Right now, I have no plans to start it. We will take it up only when we are satisfied with the script."

But the rumours don't stop here. Apparently Kapoor approached Sridevi for the same role, and if all goes well, she just may be playing the part. But industry insiders suggest she is unlikely to take it up as she's playing the female lead in R Balki's wife Gauri Shinde's debut film.
