Will Salman and Katrina play Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan on-screen?

Politician Amar Singh has come up with a strange idea of making a movie on the Bachchans apparently with no dialogues and with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif playing the lead roles. Hold on! The strangest part of the idea is yet to come. Salman Khan will play the role of Jaya Bachchan and Katrina Kaif will be playing the Big B himself.

When Amar Singh discussed this idea with Kats over the phone and offered her the role, she was taken aback initially but also thrilled at the novelty of it. Katrina says that Singh seemed very sure about the selection of actors and the innovative idea which Katrina feels is going to take the whole tinsel town by surprise. As the movie will have no dialogues, the recordings of phone taps will be incorporated for the background score.

First Look: Sonam Kapoor’s ‘Aisha’

Sonam Kapoor has a kitty full of promising flicks this year. Her ‘I hate Luv Storys’ is getting rave reviews. The first look of ‘Aisha’ with Abhay Deol is out and the pretty girl, at present, is busy in Scotland with the shoot of Pankaj Kapur’s ‘Mausam’ that co-stars Shahid Kapur. Since Sonam Kapoor is away from home on her birthday, unit of ‘Mausam’ has planned a surprise birthday party for her. Sonam’s Mom Sunita is already with her in Scotland and Papa Anil plans to surprise her by flying down there.

Anil Kapoor, too, planned something special for her birthday and released the first look of Aisha today. Produced by Anil Kapoor Films Company, the movie also marks the debut of younger sister Rhea Kapoor as producer. Directed by Rajshree Ojha, and starring Abhay Deol, Cyrus Sahukar, and Ira Dubey among others, the movie is slated to release on 6th August 2010. It has been shot extensively in Mumbai, Delhi, and Rishikesh.

The story of the movie revolves around Aisha, a girl with a simple diktat - everyone’s business is her business. Aisha will make sure everyone dances to her tune. On the other hand, Arjun believes that Aisha should mind her own business.

Critics all praises for Ranbir Kapoor’s performance in ‘Rajneeti’

Ranbir Kapoor has successfully displayed his diverse acting skills successfully portraying various shades as a chocolate boy, a spoilt brat, a salesman, and now, a mature Samar Pratap Singh, the ruthless manipulator in ‘Rajeenti’ who reminds you of the strong performance of Michael Corleone in ‘The Godfather’.

‘Ranbir is fabulous in ‘Raajneeti’… He has a natural talent for acting. His screen presence is strong and engaging and he interacts very well with the camera. The best part about Ranbir is that he has no artifice,’ said film critic Anupama Chopra adding, ‘He is young and should do every role - from that of a psycho man, romantic hero, action star, negative roles, everything.’

Despite the presence of stalwarts like Nana Patekar and Ajay Devgan, Ranbir Kapoor stands out with his performance. ‘He is actually the backbone of ‘Raajneeti’. He brings a reined-in, steel-edged ruthlessness to his character. For sure there is no other actor from his generation who could have played this character,’ said critic Subhash K. Jha in his review.

Another film critic, Omar Qureshi, says, ‘If one looks at Ranbir’s career graph and pulls out any review, he has always been praised universally. He takes a very intelligent choice of script whether that is of a goofy romantic in ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’, an unconventional pairing, a coming of age story in ‘Wake Up Sid’ or a grey character in ‘Raajneeti’. He is here to stay. He is the future.’

However, Ranbir Kapoor is keeping his head in place and says, ‘I am too new to have an image and I really don’t care for it also. All I am doing is working in good stories, with good filmmakers, playing interesting characters and then leaving it for the audience. There is no plan in my head; so I am just going with the flow and enjoying the journey.’

Priyanka Chopra Putting Weight, Fat like Namitha

Priyanka Chopra is looking plump in "Saat Khoon Maaf" because director Vishal Bharadwaj wanted her to put on some weight for the thriller. The actress is disliking every bit of it.

"I've been on a put-on-some-serious-weight kind of diet for 'Saat Khoon Maaf"... yuck! I feel so unhealthy!" the actress posted on her Twitter page.

The 27-year-old is now waiting to hit the gym."Now that the film is almost over ... I plan on hitting the gym with a vengeance ... And coming from me that's a feat in itself ... because I hate gyms! Aaaarrrggghh!!" she wrote.

Kareena shares the best actress award with Vidya

Bipasha and John moves separate ways

Sometimes ideology stands as a barrier in love and something similar happened to lovebirds Bipasha Basu and John Abraham. They missed the company of each other at the IIFA event held in Colombo. The Tamilian issue has separated the two hearts. John who is a Malyalee strongly respects the sentiments of the South Indian and decided to quit the event whereas Bips has no choice but to attend as she has to promote her film, ‘Lamhaa’ at the event.

Says a source close to John and Bipasha, “Bipasha proceeded to Colombo at the last minute without John. This was the first time she attended theis annual jamboree without John and no, she wasn't sulking over the matter.Bipasha had no choice but to attend because she had to represent her film Lamhaa in Colombo.”

Till the last minute Bipasha tried to influence John to accompany her but keeping in note the Tamilian sentiments, he opted out. Says a mutual friend of the couple, “John is very clear about being politically correct. He is a Malyalee and feels very strongly about South Indian issues. So even if it meant not spending quality time with Bipasha John decided to forego the pleasure trip.”

However, John brushed out the report saying, “I had work in Mumbai so I didn't go. I'm completely immersed in pre-production work for Nishikant Kamat's film.I can't think of anything else at the moment.”

John might be politically correct but his sweetheart missed him a lot. Dressed in a golden short dress, she said, "I miss John. He is one person, whose company I miss the most here, not anyone else's".

Kareena Kapoor might be the most glamorous actress in Bollywood but for the latest issue of People magazine, he has Devcided to go non-glamorous. In 2008 when she first graced People magazine, she was with heavy make-up but this time, she sports a simple look.

Speaking about going de-glam, the diva said, "Beauty lies in being simple and natural and this is what I believe in. This is the real me. I believe in being natural and People's cover has given me this opportunity".

"When they came to me with the concept and said they wanted to do the 'India's most beautiful' issue, I was up for it. It is ironical that the international version of the same issue features Julia Roberts on the cover," she added.

Kareena Kapoor was devoid of make-ups in her debut film, ‘Refugee’ and later in ‘Dev’ and ‘Chameli’, she was seen in least make-up. She has the opinion that looking glamorous or non-glam lots depend on the role that one portrays on screen.

Kabir Khan wants Katrina Kaif

After receiving rave reviews for her serious performance in ‘Raajneeti’, Katrina Kaif was approached by director Kabir Khan, the man behind ‘Kabul Express’ and ‘New York’. Kabir Khan will next direct a film of Yash Raj banner. The film is said to be a romantic thriller.

Katrina Kaif has been approached for the female lead whereas the male actor is yet to be finalized. Says Khan, "My film definitely has a strong element of romance in it. I'm scheduled to meet Aditya Chopra soon to finalise the cast. But it's too early to say anything more at the moment’.

Since John Abraham was a common factor in both his films, he is assumed to play the lead role. However, Yash Raj is yet to make the official announcement.
