Kareena Kapoor: Saif said it looked hot!

Even though sister Karisma and boyfriend Saif Ali Khan couldn't be with her, Kareena Kapoor had enough reasons to smile as her wax statue was unveiled at the Madame Tussauds museum in Blackpool.

Kareena's statue dressed in a Manish Malhotra outfit from the Mauja Hi Mauja track from Jab We Met is placed right next to that of Amitabh Bachchan in a exhibition celebrating Bollywood.

To Kareena, the idea of having a statue of herself is a bit intimidating. "The idea of being immortalised forever is scary. The feeling hasn't sunk in yet. When I looked around the room, I realised I was the youngest person from Bollywood to be waxed. Also I am right next to Mr Bachchan, so what more can one ask for?" Saying the best part of the statue are the eyes, Bebo adds, "They have done a marvellous of capturing the eyes so well.

They are expressive and have that same feel which the song from Jab We Met showcases. I can't comment about my statue, but the fans who travelled miles to come and see it have loved it. They've all told me it looks exactly like me."

She adds, "Saif couldn't come as he's busy with Agent Vinod. I sent him the pictures a night before on the phone, and he said 'it looked so hot! Karisma also couldn't be here as she' busy with her film. "When I am 70 and look back at these moments, I will definitely be proud of what I've achieved," concludes a proud Bebp

Now, Amitabh Bachchan to be part of RA.One

Shah Rukh Khan is leaving no stone unturned to make RA.One a superhit. After Rajinikanth, it’s Amitabh Bachchan who has become part of King Khan’s ambitious sci-fi film.

But there is little twist Big B will only lend his voice and not act in the flick.

According to a source, “SRK wanted Big B to do the voice over for an extremely important sequence in the film. Anubhav Sinha, the director was also keen on having someone to do the voice over. In fact, when Khan approached Bachchan, the superstar immediately agreed to be a part of the superhero flick. There is immense respect between SRK and Amitji”.

RA.One's director Anubhav Sinha confirmed the news to Mumbai Mirror, “Amitji has been kind enough. We needed someone special to do this voiceover in the film. Also, the project will now get blessings from the people we have loved and respected for years. God is kind to me. I had SRK, Arjun Rampal, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Sanjay Dutt. Now I even have Rajinikanth sir and Mr Amitabh Bachchan in my film. I feel blessed.”

Other actor who're playing cameos just for SRK

1) Rajinikanth as Chitti: Shah Rukh had to increase RA.One's budget to accommodate Rajinikanth's creative suggestions.
2) Sanjay Dutt will play Khalnayak and has shot for an action sequence.
3) Priyanka Chopra will portray The Damsel in Distress.

Rajinikanth to restart shooting for Rana in December

Rajnikant’s fans get new reason to cheer again as their action god is to reappear after a long time. Due to his ailment, Rajnikant’s much talked upcoming movie Rana was to be dumped, however the actor has decided to resume shooting in December, revealed a source from Eros International.

superstar Rajinikanth health problem put the film’s future in uncertainty and it was supposed to be abandoned following the hero fell ill on the very first day of shooting in April.
Rajnikant has gone under renal treatment since that date and has been travelling from India to Singapore for the purpose.
But to the surprise of all his fans and well wishers, Rajnikant made a quick comeback and has started shooting for Rana for which he is playing a triple role. The film is expected to be released in three languages Tamil, Hindi and Telugu simultaneously.
Hot Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone and actor Sonu Sood will also feature in Rana in important characters.
Ravikumar stated about the resumption of Rana’s shooting explaining that now Rajnikant has recovered completely and he is very much keen to restart. He also assured star’s lovers that Rajnikant is not under any pressure from the film’s crew and he will shoot only when he remains well enough to shoot for the triple role.

Shahid Kapoor: I didn't charge dad

New Delhi, Sept. 12 -- Shahid Kapoor charges over R15 crore for his films, but the actor hasn't charged a penny for Mausam, yet. Directed by his father Pankaj Kapur, the film has been made on a budget of R50 crore. But, the 30-year-old actor clarifies that his fees did not add to the expenses. "It is such a big and expensive film that I didn't want the burden of my fees to fall on the film's budget.

We've worked out a structure of sorts, so that my payment is not a burden on the film as of now," says Shahid while on a visit to the Capital. Does that mean he's following a profit sharing model like the Khans. "Please contact my accountant for more details," he says.

Shahid has had a spate of bad luck with international events recently. In August, the music launch of the film in London was cancelled due to the riots in the city, and his live performance at Times Square, New Jersey, was called off after hurricane Irene struck.

Though he now has his fingers crossed that all will go well with Mausam's scheduled premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on Friday, he is quick to add, "I'm not making plans for Toronto as of now." But, the film has reached a stumbling block. Based on the Indian Air Force (IAF), a sequence in the film needs to reworked after the IAF objected to it. "Certain special effects and computer graphics were added during post-production and that's come under scrutiny. But it's a 30 second sequence and hopefully will be rectified in time," he says.

For him, the best part about his role as Squadron Leader Harinder (Harry) Singh was getting to fly an F16 and the worst was having to maintain a moustache! "It is the most difficult thing to maintain! I used to cut myself while trimming everyday. And I will never keep one in the future again," says Shahid, all smiles now that he's back to his clean shaven avatar.

Vidya Balan Is Being Noticed Big Time With ‘The Dirty Picture’

While it is ‘Ooh Laa Laa’ time for Vidya Balan currently, courtesy her dare bare act in THE DIRTY PICTURE which is being noticed in a big way, another film of hers has taken a backseat for now. KAHAANI, which was launched close to a year ago, has gone slow in favour of THE DIRTY PICTURE which is turning out to be Vidya’s next big arrival.

“After ISHQIYA, Vidya had signed two films – NO ONE KILLED JESSICA and KAHAANI. While she first shot for the former and the film was released early this year, it was KAHAANI that she started working on around the same time.

After she had completed a major part of this Sujoy Ghosh directed film, THE DIRTY PICTURE came her way. Ever since then there has been a lot of noise made around this Milan Luthria directed biopic”, says an industry observer.

A thriller shot in Kolkata, KAHAANI has Vidya Balan playing a pregnant woman on the look-out for her husband who has gone missing. On the other hand in THE DIRTY PICTURE, Vidya can be seen exuding oomph while enacting the role of Silk Smitha.

“If KAHAANI would have been Vidya’s first release after NO ONE KILLED JESSICA, which would have meant two back to back hardcore performance oriented roles for her,” says a source, “Call it coincidental or intentional but THE DIRTY PICTURE arriving should be a win-win situation for all involved. Vidya can expect to showcase a different side of her while KAHAANI too would further benefit when it releases since audience would be in for a shock to see her in a different avatar all over again.”

It is turning out to be a winning situation for KAHAANI too because now it would be seeing a solo release on 20th January. For Bollywood followers there is a little bit of trivia here because Vidya’s NO ONE KILLED JESSICA too had released in January this year and turned into a good success.

Minissha Lamba: First hurricanes are like first love

When Minissha Lamba was in New York for an Indo-US cultural event, she was stuck on the 22nd floor of the Hotel Radisson due to hurricane Irene which had struck the nation. She is trapped in the hotel until the hurricane calls off and the sir services resume from US.

Speaking on Sunday morning from her hotel room in New York, the actress said, “It’s really really scary out here. For 36 hours the entire New York is going to have to stay indoors. A state of emergency has been declared. Everyone is in their homes. As I look out of my hotel window I see a deserted street down below, Can you imagine New York without traffic? It’s like a scene out of Armageddon.”

“I am all alone here. My stay has been extended for a week. I had no choice. The airports are shut. All flights are cancelled. Half of New York, New Jersey, Staten Island have been evacuated. I can’t return.”
“I hope I can return the soonest possible. Maybe I should just enjoy Irene’s company. She’s my first hurricane. I believe first hurricanes are like first love. You never forget it,” she added with a hint of humor.

NEWS : DEEPIKA PADUKONE TO ROMANCE AMIR KHAN IN 'DHOOM 3'

‘Dhoom 3’ is on the making and the most difficult part that the makers of ‘Dhoom 3’ is facing is to cast a suitable female lead opposite Aamir Khan. Many Bollywood names like Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra were considered but due to some reasons or the other, things did not fall in place. Now the latest rumor that is doing the rounds is that Deepika Padukone will star opposite the perfectionist.

However, Deepika has been approached by Yash Raj and the actress was spotted outside Yash Raj office. The actress featuring in this high octane action drama has not yet been confirmed but speculation is high that the long leg dusky beauty will play Aamir Khan’s ladylove.

Earlier Katrina Kaif was considered for the role but she opted out as the role demands intimate scene and bikini. Not only Bollywood but many Hollywood names were being considered for the role, divas like Penelope Cruz and Eva Longoria were approached by the makers.

HOT : SHAHID THINKS PRIYANKA IS HOTTER THAN KAREENA

Shahid Kapoor who is linked with a string of female actors says that he likes girls who are more talkative and outgoing because it helps him to understand them better. Shahid Kapoor dated some of the hot actresses of Bollywood like Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra in the past, though it's unfortunate that he did not reach the end but when he was asked whom he thinks is the hotter between Kareena and Priyanka. The actor didn’t take much time to reply, it is Priyanka.

He stated, “Personally, I think Priyanka is hotter.” Shahid upcoming release is ‘Mausam’ and he is really excited being directed by his father Pankaj Kapoor. This is the first time, Shahid ia sharing screen space with Sonam Kapoor and both shared a great chemistry in the film.

Record opening day collection for 'Bodyguard'

The festival of Eid has once again proved to be lucky for Bollywood superstar Salman Khan whose new release "Bodyguard" has earned a record Rs.22 crore net as first day collections -- surpassing blockbusters "Dabangg" and "3 Idiots".

The action-packed drama, in which Salman has teamed up with Kareena Kapoor, was released on Eid-ul-Fitr Wednesday. His "Wanted" and "Dabangg" too released on Eid in 2009 and 2010, respectively.

"Bodyguard" has not only surpassed first day collections of "Singham" (Rs.9.1 crore), "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara" (Rs.8.15 crore), "Delhi Belly" (Rs.7.15 crore), "Ready" (Rs.13.5 crore) and "Dum Maaro Dum" (Rs. 6.2 crore), it has also overtaken the box office earnings of "Dabangg" and "3 Idiots", which collected Rs 14.5 crore and Rs.13 crore, respectively, on the first day.

"The response to the film has been amazing. We had estimated the collection to be Rs.20 crore on the first day and it went on to be Rs 21.5-22 crore net, which are phenomenal figures for the first day," Priti Shahani, chief strategy and marketing officer, Reliance Entertainment, told IANS.

"Salman, no doubt, is the biggest driving factor as he has a huge fan following. A good release date is extremely crucial on the theatrical side and Salman and Eid are indeed a lethal combo," she added.

Made at an approximate budget of Rs.60 crore, the film released in India with 2,600 prints and 325 prints overseas. Shahani said they haven't yet got the figures for overseas collection.

A Hindi-remake of the Malayalam film of the same name, "Bodyguard" has been directed by Siddique and co-produced by Salman's brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri and Reliance Entertainment.

Shahani predicts that the film will cross the Rs.100-crore mark in the very first week.

"Looking at the unprecedented response to the film, 'Bodyguard' is likely to cross the Rs.100-crore mark in its first week," she said.

With an extended weekend, multiplex owners are hoping to make good business.

"The opening has been nice, the occupancy has gone up to 80 percent. People are liking the film. We are hoping for a good weekend and expect the occupancy to go up to 100 percent," said Munish, managing director (marketing) of Satyam Cineplex.

Yogesh Raizada, of Waves Cinemas calls the film a treat for Salman fans.

"It's a complete Salman Khan with lots of action and some comedy. People are enjoying the film. On the first day, the occupancy was around 80 to 90 percent in the suburbs and in the NCR region. We hope an equally good response over the weekend," he said.

Kangana Ranavat Shows Off Her Curves In A Bikini

Bollywood actress Kangna Ranaut had been saying for months that she won’t wear a two- piece in David Dhawan’s upcoming flick Rascals. But new pictures from the movie’s set show an uninhibited Kangna strutting her stuff in a white bikini, looking smouldering hot with her newfound curves, says a media report.

Kangna’s bikini is subtle with just a black bow for design, and in the picture ( which was leaked online) she is seen walking beside a swimming pool sporting sun- glasses with a bunch of burly bodyguards tailing her.Ever since Rascals , also starring Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn, was announced, there was a strong buzz that the Tanu Weds Manu actress might don a two- piece for the film.

This was followed by reports that the actress had developed cold feet over the prospect, and refused to do any such scene, despite Dhawan’s repeated requests. Sources said it was Dhawan’s insistence that finally prevailed upon Kangna and convinced her to change her mind.

It seems that the reports were nothing more than a publicity stunt, as Kangna’s well- toned body betrays weeks of aggressive workouts that must have gone into getting that perfect shape. And apparently, Kangna actually did spend hours with her gym instructor Kalpesh to acquire a lean yet fuller look for her on- screen bikini debut.

“I wanted the sensuous and curvaceous look of a woman and did not want to look like a little boy,” Kangna said in an interview, about her look in the film. The actress reportedly also adopted a special diet for a while and purposely kept away from cardio exercises to acquire her svelte, feminine curves, without building too much muscle.

With her bikini avatar, Kangna joins a growing list of top actresses who have sported sexy beachwear. While Aishwarya Rai Bachchan went beach- sexy in Dhoom 2, Priyanka Chopra did her bit by sporting an itty- bitty swimsuit in Dostana .

However, it was Kareena Kapoor who actually started the beach- bod trend when she wore a two- piece on her size- zero frame in Tashan . And Bollywood hasn’t looked back, since.

Simpleton to sexy siren – Vidya Balan goes bold

Vidya Balan

Forget the bespectacled Radhika of the “Hum Paanch” series, the demure Lalita of “Parineeta” or even the rustic Krishna of “Ishqiya”! An evolved Vidya Balan paints “The Dirty Picture” red with her killer pout, sultry dance, deep cleavage and her bold stance, leaving you sighing and singing “Ooh la la! Ooh la la”.

When producer Ekta Kapoor told IANS “I would be surprised if I don’t get unbelievable critical acclaim for ‘Dirty Picture’ and a national award for my actress, Vidya Balan”, she sure didn’t mean it for nothing.

The story of southern sex siren Silk Smitha — her rise as a glamour girl thanks to her bold and semi-nude roles in movies, and her gradual fall owing to new entrants in the market, her financial crisis and personal problems — “The Dirty Picture” is set to have Vidya at her glamorous, boldest and sultry best.

If the first poster of the film, with Vidya showing off her cleavage in an itsy bitsy red blouse, didn’t spell fire, the one minute 30-second trailer sure makes you go “Ooh la la” – in tune with disco king Bappi Lahiri’s spicy rendition of a song which says “Tu hai meri fantasy…”.

The Munnis and the Sheilas of Bollywood can take a backseat for a while because the 33-year-old Vidya, even with her not so washboard abs, might just become every man’s fantasy with her titillating moves, curvaceous frame, playfulness, and sensuous ways in her scenes with Naseeruddin Shah, Tusshar Kapoor and Bollywood’s very own serial kisser Emraan Hashmi.

With its into-the-face dialogues, the trailer itself might leave many gasping like Tusshar when Vidya says: “Mujhe jo chahiye uska mazza raat ko hee aata hai” and many ogling like Naseer does when she decks up for a film shoot.

Perhaps what the trailer misses is the dark side of Silk Smitha’s story, which the film is expected to highlight. But it does its job and it does it well.

It’s been just six years since Vidya made her Bollywood debut with “Parineeta”, but in the short period, the actress showed her fearless streak by roles that are as different as chalk and cheese like “Ishqiya” and “Paa”.

Her choice of unconventional scripts with experimental roles that challenge the actor in her has continued to set an example of what it takes to strike the right balance between commercial and parallel cinema.

If it was a lonely lover in her first movie, Bengali project “Bhalo Theko”, Vidya went on to show her subtle and romantic side in “Parineeta”. In “Lage Raho Munnabhai”, she was seen in a conventional role, but she played it unconventionally.

Her performance in “Guru” as a multiple sclerosis patient may have been short, but it didn’t go unnoticed. Her films “Salaam-e-Ishq”, “Heyy Babyy” and “Kismat Konnection” may not have done much to boost her film career, but Vidya remained dauntless.

She broke all doubts about her dancing skills through her performance on the song “Ami je tomar” in “Bhool Bhulaiyaa”.

For a brief period, her choice of dresses was talk of the town and was much criticised, but Vidya kept to her work and when she returned as single mother in “Paa”, her high-voltage performance shut the wagging tongues.

“Ishqiya” further strengthened filmmakers’ belief in her versatility and capacity as an actor. In Abhishek Chaubey’s film, Vidya convincingly played a conniving and manipulative woman who doesn’t shy away from using her sexuality to fulfil her goals.

And then “No One Killed Jessica” saw her in a completely different avatar. Based on the real-life Jessica Lall murder case, the movie saw her as a grieving sister who runs from pillar to post to get justice for her sister.

After entertaining viewers with her plain Jane look, Vidya has now picked up a contrasting role in “The Dirty Picture”. She oozes oomph like never before and one wonders if the movie will be Vidya’s next stepping stone to her ever-rising success story.

Directed by Milan Luthria, the film will release Dec 2, which is Silk Smitha’s birth anniversary.
