Source: Taylor Lautner & Dwayne Johnson In Talks For ‘Goliath’

Taylor Lautner and Dwayne Johnson may soon face off on the big screen.

The actors are in “early talks” to appear in Relativity Media’s “Goliath,” a source close to the project told Access Hollywood on Thursday.

“The Twilight Saga” heartthrob would play the role of David, the shepherd boy-turned-giant-slaying future king in the Biblically-based film, while Johnson would throw his 6’5” frame behind the role of Goliath, the menacing warrior sent to destroy the Israelites.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, which was first to report the casting news, Scott Derrickson (“The Exorcism of Emily Rose”) is set to direct the project.

For Lautner fans who can’t wait for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1’s” November 18 release, the 19-year-old heartthrob will soon be seen in the action thriller, “Abduction,” alongside Lily Collins, when the film hits theaters on September 23.

Johnson also has multiple projects in the pipeline – the “Fast Five” star recently wrapped production on “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island” with Josh Hutcherson and Vanessa Hudgens, and is currently filming, “G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation,” featuring Channing Tatum, Adrianne Palicki and Bruce Willis.

“G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation” is slated for release on June 29, 2012.

Breaking Dawn Part 1 Full Movie Poster... Meh

Click for bigger

So, obviously this isn't a million miles away from the wider version of the poster we saw released at Comic Con 2011 but I remain underwhelmed.

Now, let's not get started on the hair again (or the fact that Bella's dress is woefully non-tailored - Alice would never allow such gaping!) but the whole composition is just so... lacking.

I'm sorry Bill, I have every confidence that Breaking Dawn will be everything we fans want it to be on the big screen, but... I can't help but long for Catherine's original Twilight poster.

As basic as her tools may have been by comparison at the beginning of this franchise, that poster still holds such romance and danger and yearning!

This one just seems to be ticking boxes *sigh* just me?

"Sparkles For Blood" Campaign At Comic-Con

I am a little offended by the "Sparkles for Blood" promotion that IDW Publishing is running a Comic-Con this year!

According to IGN Comics, you can trade in any Twilight Saga novel or comic for an upgrade - IGN states:

Fans that bring any copy of a Twilight novel or comic to IDW's booth (#2643)
will get a free copy of the 30 Days of Night graphic novel. Dubbed "Sparkles for
Blood," the promotion is meant to spark interest in the recently announced 30
Days of Night ongoing series, debuting from IDW in October.

"Real horror fans have watched vampires systematically turned into wimpy fodder for years now. It's time to fight back" said Niles. "I'm happy to be working with IDW on the Sparkles for Blood event. Hopefully, working together we can put an end to
this nightmare."

"Recently, vampires in pop culture have started to swing back to the romanticized vamps of other literature and films before 30 Days of Night," said IDW chief creative officer, Chris Ryall. "In some cases, they're even being treated more as chaste immortal teenagers than as the murderous creatures that they are. 'Sparkles for Blood' will remind everyone that vampires are creatures of the night, not of the twilight."

Are y'all just as "WTForks" as I am? I like my vamps sparkly. K? Thanks!

--Ashes

P.S. I highly doubt that Twilight Saga readers are going to trade their books in! Even if they wanted to read!

Original Forks High School Landmark Demolished

After I was lucky enough to pilgrimage to Forks last October I post about how the original Forks High School was at risk of demolition...

Sadly, today the Seattle Times reports:

A popular spot for 'Twilight' fans to have their pictures taken in Forks is gone.

The facade of Forks High School came down this month as the building is being demolished to make way for a new school.

The Peninsula Daily News reports a campaign to raise $287,000 to save the 86-year-old facade raised only a few thousand dollars. It was one site in the Olympic Peninsula town visited by fans of the teen vampire-romance books and movies.

A terra cotta cornerstone and lintel reading "Quillayute High School" will be preserved in the new school.

Everyone thought there was a time capsule in the old cornerstone. All they found was a badly deteriorated copy of a 1925 weekly newspaper.

MTV Does A Fashion Homage To 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse'

MTV
put together a fashion homage to The Twilight Saga. How do you think they did? I totally need some more Twilight bandaids... My daughter used them all!
Twi-hards, your moment has come. We've rounded up an Polyvore assemblage worthy of all you beautiful Bellas out there, one that captures everything that reminds us of Twilight IRL where it's not that vampires and werewolves don't exist per se, it's that we just, erm, haven't found OUR VERY OWN to hug and love and hold (YET!). In the meantime, we can still thumb through the books and watch the
series on repeat. With appropriate pauses to gaze longingly into the eyes of the
sparkly Edward and sinewy Jacob... obvi.

Keeping with the movies' laidback wardrobe, we feature a plaid cotton button-up from The Outnet, a gray V-neck pocket tee from Madewell, a Free People cargo anorak, and these awesomely distressed Diesel exposure sneakers. If you're feeling a little vamp-y (as in like a vampire, not a harlot), slather yourself in Immortelle Devine Creme (ZOMG IMMORTALITY CREAM aka anti-aging cream teehee) and Odd Molly sparkly body lotion. Not into being a vampire and would rather just date one? That's fine.
But you're gonna need these Twilight band-aids and some iron supplements to
combat anemia. Actually, you'll need those if you date a werewolf, too, so just
stock up, mini-Bellas. And since we KNOW you're STILL trying to make up your
mind (you fickle things), an apple and a wolf charm that you can switch out
depending on your mood that day. Or which one you're about to see *wink*

This Week in DVD Releases: 24 March

Last week saw the release of the best-seller-turned-blockbuster tween phenomenon of Twilight, as well as the third incarnation of DC comic book hero, the Punisher, in Punisher: The War Zone. Elegy, which had a surplus of Oscar and Oscar Nominee talent to buoy its DVD case, was also released.

But just when you thought you couldn’t see past the steamy gaze of Twilight’s Edward or listen after the concussive blasts of Punisher: War Zone, another week is upon us, which, coincidentally, means another batch of releases are also making their way from the store fronts and iTunes to the shelves and hard drives of cineastes and movie lovers alike.

The following titles will be available tomorrow:
