Dharma Productions, which already has 'Agneepath', 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' and 'Student Of The Year' up for release next year, has announced its new project 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani'. What's making news is the fact that the Karan Johar banner has signed up once-sweethearts Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone for the film.

This is the first time Deepika will be working with Dharma Productions. There was a lot of speculation as to who would be paired opposite Ranbir in the film. There were talks of Anushka Sharma or Katrina Kaif being approached for the role, but Deepika managed to bag the film, as Karan, Ayan and Ranbir were convinced that she is the best for the role.
Deepika and Ranbir, who were last seen together in 'Bachna Ae Haseeno', had registered success on the basis of their electrifying chemistry together. YJHD is sure to exploit this chemistry to the fullest.
YJHD will be directed by Ayan Mukerji, who earlier made Wake Up Sid for the same banner.
The line 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani' is taken from the famous RD Burman song from the 70s hit 'Jawani Deewani'. While 'Wake Up Sid' was a coming of age film 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani' will be a hardcore romantic film.
Karan Johar tweeted, "So hey...Ranbir and Deepika will be in Ayan mukerji's next titled...YEH JAWANI HAI DEEWANI!!! The wake up sid boys on the floors from jan!!"

Bollywood Actor Ranbir bumps into ex-flame Deepika

At the screening of ‘Delhi Belly’, many stars were invited and among them were ex-lovers, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. Ranbir arrived with filmmaker Karan Johar while Deepika came to watch the film with father Prakash Padukone and sister Anisha.

When Ranbir notice Deepika, instead of taking his eyes away from her, he greeted her warmly. An eye witness reveal,"But Ranbir was very graceful and he spoke very warmly with her". Added the source, “Deepika had flown down from London where she was shooting for Homi Adajania`s Cocktail with Saif Ali Khan. She had told Imran that she wanted to see the film. She had got a couple of days off, so she came."

At first Ranbir thought that his rival Imran Khan’s movie will not be liked by the celebrity guests but after the screening was over, the reaction was just opposite. Everyone liked the movie and praised Imran. On looking at the positive reaction of the guests, Ranbir’s expression needs to be watched. He was shocked and could not handle the competition.

"So much so that some people present were even sniggering among themselves that suddenly, Ranbir wasn't able to handle the competition," informs a source.

It is said that Deepika Padukone was chosen to play opposite to Ranbir. However (and as all know) after the two split, the plan was changed.

Now it is heard that Yash Raj Films’ find, Anushka Sharma is being considered for the film.

Rumours have it that London beauty Katrina Kaif was also in the talks before they rounded on Anushka.

However, things are not confirmed from the concerned parties, especially from Ayan’s side, as he is the person who is taking care of the casting….

Ranbir Kapoor is very upset over Priyanka Chopra. The duo is shooting for ‘Burfi’ and Piggy Chops on the set pokes fun at Ranbir’s Casanova image. Gossip : Ranbir, Kat caught kissing on an international flight

Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif denied being a couple but the duo could not hide their emotions for one another and ended up kissing each another in public. The lovebirds were caught kissing on an international flight LH 576 from Frankfurt to Mumbai on Sunday night.

They were holding their hands throughout the journey and at a point got cozy. Seating in the same row of the first class cabin, they hold each other and exchanged kiss.

According to the eyewitness, "The first class had many European businessmen, and not too many passengers recognised them. Katrina was wearing a casual T-shirt and jeans and had no make up on.

Initially she kept looking around to see if there would be any familiar Indian faces, but when she saw that wasn't the case, she got comfortable in her seat and started talking to Ranbir.

After the flight took off, they cosied up and RK was seen planting kisses on her cheek and she didn't seem to mind at all."

Apart from enjoying the company of one another, they were also involved in some work. "There were a couple of scripts piled up on their table.

They both engrossed themselves in them. At one point they were even reading out their parts out loud, as though they were rehearsing. Ranbir later called for some blankets, but neither of them were seen taking a nap."

Ranbir was returning from Amsterdam after shooting an ad while Kat had joined him to spend some quality time with beau.

The actor’s absence from the special screening of ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ held by his own father once again affirmed that Sallu’s equation with Ranbir has gone from bad to worse. And it’s all owing to the media reports on Ranbir’s growing closeness with Salman’s ladylove Katrina Kaif that has peeved the actor.

So, even though Salman’s entire clan was present at a special screening of "Anjaana Anjaani", the actor stayed away on the pretext of prior professional engagements. However, insiders state that Salman is much too annoyed with the daily gossip about Ranbir taking a close interest in Katrina.

Asin lost a role opposite Ranbir Kapoor

Bollywood Gossip: Poor Asin, the South Indian actress who entered Bollywood Movies with a bang opposite Bollywood Superstar Aamir Khan in Ghajini, is now struggling to keep herself afloat here.

Probably her nightmare began with London Dreams opposite Bollywood Actors Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan which flopped badly at the Bollywood Boxoffice. Recently, Asin was dropped from Vipul Shah’s KhaKha KhaKha opposite Bollywood handsome dude John Abraham because according to the filmmakers, her character was similar to the one she played in Ghajini, but insiders said that it was John who didn’t want to romance her, though the actor denied these statements as a mere Bollywood Gossip. Now the actress reportedly has lost out on Anurag Basu’s film Silence starring Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra and that too because she’s not tall enough!

The role had initially gone to Bollywood’s Hottest Actress Katrina Kaif, who according to the Bollywood gossip mongers had turned it down because of Priyanka’s powerful presence in the film. This led to Anurag hunting for a new face for which he also held auditions but couldn’t find the face he was looking for. It’s then that the producers asked him to take Asin, but the director refused to do so because he’s looking for a girl who is more than 5.8 feet tall.

He doesn’t think she’ll fit the role,” said a source. “Now egos are bruised. Anurag, who wants to have his way, has gone ahead and is busy directing shows for a Bengali channel because of which Silence has been kept on hold.”

Though everyone’s maintaining ‘silence’, it’s ultimately Asin who’s lost out on the opportunity of working with the current heartthrob Ranbir. Fortunately for her, Salman Khan, who had taken a liking for her during the making of London Dreams is doing Anees Bazmee’s Ready with her.

Critics all praises for Ranbir Kapoor’s performance in ‘Rajneeti’

Ranbir Kapoor has successfully displayed his diverse acting skills successfully portraying various shades as a chocolate boy, a spoilt brat, a salesman, and now, a mature Samar Pratap Singh, the ruthless manipulator in ‘Rajeenti’ who reminds you of the strong performance of Michael Corleone in ‘The Godfather’.

‘Ranbir is fabulous in ‘Raajneeti’… He has a natural talent for acting. His screen presence is strong and engaging and he interacts very well with the camera. The best part about Ranbir is that he has no artifice,’ said film critic Anupama Chopra adding, ‘He is young and should do every role - from that of a psycho man, romantic hero, action star, negative roles, everything.’

Despite the presence of stalwarts like Nana Patekar and Ajay Devgan, Ranbir Kapoor stands out with his performance. ‘He is actually the backbone of ‘Raajneeti’. He brings a reined-in, steel-edged ruthlessness to his character. For sure there is no other actor from his generation who could have played this character,’ said critic Subhash K. Jha in his review.

Another film critic, Omar Qureshi, says, ‘If one looks at Ranbir’s career graph and pulls out any review, he has always been praised universally. He takes a very intelligent choice of script whether that is of a goofy romantic in ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’, an unconventional pairing, a coming of age story in ‘Wake Up Sid’ or a grey character in ‘Raajneeti’. He is here to stay. He is the future.’

However, Ranbir Kapoor is keeping his head in place and says, ‘I am too new to have an image and I really don’t care for it also. All I am doing is working in good stories, with good filmmakers, playing interesting characters and then leaving it for the audience. There is no plan in my head; so I am just going with the flow and enjoying the journey.’

Ever since he lost the opportunity to be a part of Raj Kumar Hirani's 3 Idiots, Ranbir Kapoor has been looking for.

A reason to visit the Indian Institute Of Management in Bangalore where the film was shot.

Ranbir has been telling friends, he didn't mind missing out on the movie. But he did mind not being able to visit the IIM campus in Bangalore.

The opportunity to do so fell into Ranbir's lap. He visited IIM Bangalore on May 10 for a meet with students.

On the subject of Youth & Politics. And Ranbir took no chances. He had been preparing hard for the big day in Bangalore.

The topic of discussion was, 'Should graduation be a compulsory qualification for entering politics?'

 Katrina and Ranbir argued against it, that graduation need not be compulsory.

While Katrina Kaif who accompanied him to the IIM preferred the casual extempore approach, Ranbir wanted to get.

Director Prakash Jha who accompanied Katrina and Ranbir is very impressed by Ranbir's homework. "In fact he has been working the hardest to promote our film Raajneeti. Ranbir to romance a hot super model

The latest buzz is that, Ranbir Kapoor will be romancing the hot model Diana Penty in Imtiaz Ali’s next ‘Rockstar’.

News is that Imtiaz has signed the 25-year old model Diana Penty as the lead actress who will play the love interest of Ranbir Kapoor in the movie.

Imtiaz was apparently hesitant on whether to go for a fresh face as Ranbir’s love interest in the film. His first choice was one-film old Anushka Sharma for the role but later dropped the idea however.
