When Twilight Goes Wrong - Texas Teen Bites Woman Claiming to be 500 Year Old Vampire - Really.

Wow, seriously:
The arrest of a 19-year-old Texas man claiming to be a 500-year-old vampire from hell has raised chilling questions about pop culture's influence on human behavior.
Lyle Monroe Bensley is being held in Galveston County Jail after allegedly breaking into a woman's apartment and biting her on the neck, police said. The woman, whose name has not been released, broke free and fled the apartment, speeding to safety in a neighbor's car early Saturday. When police arrived on the scene, they found Bensley, wearing only boxer shorts, hissing and growling in the parking lot. He quickly scaled two fences before he was captured, yelling all the while that he "didn't want to have to feed on humans," Capt. Jeff Heyse of the Galveston County Police Department told ABCNews.com.
"I've dealt with some really strange people," said Heyse. "You know, guys who think they're Jesus and that. But I've never seen anything like this."

Twilight Prom "View Point Inn" All But Destroyed in Fire

According to KPTV:

A three-alarm fire that damaged a historic Columbia River Gorge hotel started when sparks from the chimney landed on the cedar roof, according to fire investigators.

The View Point Inn, featured prominently in the movie "Twilight," caught fire early Sunday afternoon.

Two of the movie's fans, who came to see the hotel, noticed the fire and alerted staff members, who tried unsuccessfully to put the flames out with a garden hose.

The hotel, built in 1924, was heavily damaged. Flames burned through the hotel's roof and gutted the top floor.

The hotel's owners filed for bankruptcy last month.

AT first uncertain of what they would do with the property, owner Geoff Thompson, told Fox 12 he thinks he and his business partner can repair the inn.

"This is one of the most beautiful properties in the world. We have people who come from all over the world to come to this amazing inn," said Thompson. "And to think it was almost gone many times before, through ruin and neglect. A little fire isn't going to stop us, but unfortunately this is a big fire. I can't do it by myself."

A wedding planned at the hotel Sunday afternoon was moved to the River View Restaurant in the area.

Fifty more weddings are planned at the venue this summer, including Humberto Olmos' August 7 ceremony.

He and his fiancee drove to a lookout point to see the inn when they heard about the fire.

"Shocked. You know. It's less than a month away. It's kind of disappointing," he said. "Hopefully we can get a refund on that. I highly doubt it."

The owners said they hope they can still hold events outside and in the gazebo area, since most of the damage is concentrated on the roof and the back of the inn.

Another fire broke out at the hotel in December 2008, damaging the kitchen, basement and a room on the second floor.

Check Out Movies.Com New Breaking Dawn Countdown Column

Super bloggy-bud, Laura (aka Pel) over at Twilight Lexicon has started a new bi-monthly Breaking Dawn Countdown coloumn over at Movies.com.

Rather than the Twi-blogesphere's usual updates, which we all try to keep up with, Movies.com is a platform for more in-depth articles, debate and discussion on subjects that fans are actually interested in, rather than cranked out tabloid blah.

It's almost like we all went back in time a few thousand posts to when there were less than 735019485860367 Twilight blogs on the web - woah!

Be sure to check out Pel's debut article The Veterans Meets the Denalis and stay tuned for more new posts :)

Forbes Name Carlisle Cullen "Richest Fictional Character" - Wanted For Tax Evasion!

For the second year running, Carlisle Cullen is the top of Forbes annual "Richest Fictional Character" list with a total fortune amounting an estimated (wait for it) $34.1 BILLION!

Forbes met (briefly) with Dr Cullen in an attempt to call him out on his multiple years dodging taxes:

FORKS, Wash. -- Those Goldman Sachs bankers taking home millions in bonuses could take a few lessons from the richest man in fiction, Dr. Carlisle Cullen. Unlike those bankers, Cullen has avoided populist ire by hiding his $34.1 billion personal fortune from charities, the I.R.S. and, until now, Forbes' intrepid imaginary billionaire hunters.

"It took you long enough to find me," Cullen, 370, said when approached at his home in Forks, Wash., before peeling off in his Mercedes S55 AMG. Sources tell us he is headed to Volterra, Italy, or possibly to Isle Esme, the private island he bought for his wife, Esme, just off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil...

Sources who requested anonymity out of fear of retaliation say that an unruly troop of London vampires converted Cullen into a vampire in 1663 (the alleged vampires did not return repeated calls for comment)...

But Cullen has bigger things than his medical license and an ongoing I.R.S. audit to worry about, namely, his old benefactors. The Volturi have laws, or really, just one law, to being a vampire: You must keep a low profile. They forbid exposure. Forbes could not reach Aro, Marcus or Caius Volturi for comment, but was able to reach Felix, a member of their security detail.

Asked how he and his employers planned to deal with Cullen's recent exposure, Felix would only offer, "Dibs."

P.s. You'd think with all that money he'd be a little more cash compassionate around Forks - just sayin'!

Summit Suing Bath & Body Works Over "Twilight Woods"

You didn't know that Summit Entertainment owns the word "Twilight" - psssh, where have you been?!

Don't you remember that time they tried to claim copyright of Twitarded's logo? Because they totally own all variations of the word "Twi" - sucks to be you Twitter, keep an eye out for angry looking mail.

Well now, because Summit apparently needs more money, the production house is suing Bath & Body Works over their Twilight Woods collection:

The retailer says it's under threat from Summit Entertainment because its lotions and other bathroom products allegedly rip off the design and color palate of "Twilight" promo materials.

Confusion in the marketplace? Summit allegedly thinks so. Now Bath & Body Works has beat Summit to the courthouse to stake its claim in federal court in Manhattan.
