Julia Roberts says daughter wants to live in India

Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts, who was in India last year to shoot for her upcoming film, said that her children loved staying in the country so much that her daughter wishes to live in India when she grows up.

Appearing on the Oprah Winfrey show, Roberts spoke about her upcoming movie 'Eat, Pray, Love', parts of which were shot in India last September.

The actress told Winfrey in the show aired on Monday she and her three children-- 5-year-old twins Finn and Hazel and 2 1/2-year-old son Henry-- were "amazed" by India.

"To be in India is to experience India. It is not that you have to go find it. It is all right there," Roberts said.

"The children love it. Hazel said when she grows up, that's where (India) she's going to live," she said adding that her daughter does not want to visit India occasionally but is keen on staying there.

The 42-year-old star travelled with her husband and kids to Italy, India and Bali to shoot for the movie, based on an eponymous book by American author and memoirist Elizabeth

Gilbert.

Roberts, who starred in blockbusters 'Pretty Woman' and 'Erin Brockovich', said her children enjoyed experiencing the culture of every place they visited.

Her son Finn even shaved his head before coming to India. "My kids were really into the culture of every place we went. Hazel also wanted to shave her head, so I let her shave the back half of her head. They would chant, and they were just interested," she said.

Roberts had stayed at the Pataudi Palace hotel in Gurgaon along with the cast and crew of the movie and filmed scenes at Ashram Hari Mandir near Delhi.

"They were very giving, which I guess is inherent to living on an ashram, to be open and giving. But they let us descend upon them. We had some rules to adhere to, and we tried to be on our best behaviour. And we did not show our shoulders," she said of her stay in the ashram.

The movie, a Brad Pitt production and directed by Ryan Murphy, features Roberts in the role of Gilbert, who gives up her New York home, a comfortable life and husband when she realises that she is unhappy with life.

She then travels to Italy, India and Indonesia in her quest for peace and love. The movie would release in August 2010.
